oh no! That's annoying, so close to passing  I thought my second test was harder as well. I booked for the next one which just happened to be 2 weeks away. I then studied everyday for atleast 2 hours.

I know and I haven’t been feeling well I get hayfever lol .. what materials did you use for mental maths excluding numeracy ready ? I really want to pass ASAP may have to do all nights or something lol.

That's even better than to get that close when you're feeling rubbish. I mostly used Numeracy Ready and their explanation but i had a book which i will dig out the name for you and i also created revision notes using bits of cards for the techniques. Have you rebooked yet?

I like numeracy ready only thing is that they don’t give explanations on how they got the answer. I have a qts book by Chris something how to pass your QTS I m mainly going to focus on the Mental maths bit and remain calm .Dont think the system will allow me to book it now as I had it today. I wish I wasn’t working next week lol so I can do all day revision. What unviersity are you going to if you don’t mind me asking?

They have some explanations with a sheet and a video but not for everything.
I think we have the same one. I didn't find it particularly helpful.
That's a good plan, try and do the mental ones over and over.
I booked my next one as soon as I came out of the assessment centre. You can't retake for 48 hours but can book straight away.
Work does get in the way, I'm literally counting down the hours until I can hand in my notice.
I'm going to Bath Spa

Yh I will focus more on the mental maths this time. One issue is that I don’t read the question properly when it comes to mental maths 😩😩 one question I had today I got it wrong as I didn’t read it properly If I did I would of passed it. I will use numeracy ready as well. I will pass lol just means my time is limited and I have to be more organised as I work 8 am to 6 pm. Plus I need money so yeah lol. That’s cool ha ha I can imagine you must be excited when do you start and what is your preferred age.

I had the exact same problem, i'm used to skimming for information as that is what i did for my degree. It was taking the time to read the and understand the question in a very short space of time. Ah that is annoying. Ouch that is a long day! Yeah sadly money seems to be important, especially the way they have split up the payments for the loan. I am so excited, literally counting down the days! 2 months today i start and i prefer Secondary KS3. What about you?

I believe I will pass I will put more effort on the mental questions this time. Yh lol is a long day I thought I would of passed by test. But am nearly there just need to do a timetable and do revison either in the early morning or evening and still maintain a healthy sleep it can be done just requires organisation. How long did student loan take to get back to you haven’t even done that will start on it this week. Are you doing secondary pgce what subject? I prefer ks2 and my specialism is special needs . I m doing a primary pgce me too can’t wait .

I found the second part easier on the test than numeracy ready. Oh yes and if you can organise for that revision you'll be ready for the PGCE as it seems very full on from what I hear. Not that long my crb took longer. But I applied the day I passed my interview, it may take longer the closer we get to September. Yep in History. Ah that's cool 😎. Will you be hoping for a job in SEN after?

Hi I have been offered a conditional place at Middlesex University to start in Sep2018 . I have to pass both Literacy and Numeracy skills test.
I passed the literacy but have yet to take the numeracy test. I kept postponing it as I’m dreading the Maths. It’s my weakest point. I’m going to sit it on Saturday . But worried if I fail it I may be running out of time to start training in September 18? Any tips on the Nuneracy test? Do you think it’s doable within a month?
Thanks

A month is doable some people passed there umeracy test in 2 weeks. Be confident , say to yourself you will pass, look at numeracy solutions on youbtue there is a lot . Use bitesize don’t put to much stress on yourself try your best.

Done my first numeracy test and unfortunately haven’t passed it ! :frown:( needed 12 more marks to pass . That’s quite a lot of marks I know ! I know I didn’t revise well tbh and haven’t practised any of the papers on the government website. But have been practising from books. Will have to practise the online tests definitely. Stressing because I don’t have much time before September !!

Do you know what I have been revising for 5 months or 4 I haven’t passed. 1st = 6 marks 2 nd = one mark 3 rd = 2 marks and 4 th 6 marks . I m believe I will pass it takes people sometimes longer to pass. However, there is always next year yes it’s a delay but is better than giving up on your dream of being a teacher. I was actually suppose this last year but I was scared of the qts tests and didn’t have enough time time in eyes . However this year I passed the literacy test first time . These things happened don’t stress stresa theres no point . There is a shortage of teachers so don’t worry you will be one .

Thanks yes I agree . Are you going to sit another exam again before September ? Or have decided to postpone your course until next year? I’m going to sit another exam in 2weeks time . I will start off by practising the the online exams .
How did you revise each time? I can’t believe you were 1 Mark away at some point . That’s quite frustrating .
I've got my tests in 2 weeks, feeling confident about literacy but doing badly in all my practice numeracy tests and as I work full time it's hard to fit in study time :frown:

Well thankfully enough my mum has offered to pay for my test I will try again in two to three weeks time then I will take steps from there. I have faith I will pass and start the course. There’s always next year a in my late 20s I wish I done teaching straight after uni but everything happens for a reason. You can purchase numeracy ready it helped me yesterday I m very annoyed about the one and two marks. I haven’t taken a break for 4 days and will resume on Monday evening. Do you work? Or you will you be revising for two weeks straight ?
