2019 English Lit GCSE AQA Predictions ( 8702 )

With 42 days until AQA GCSE English Lit paper 1, wanted to get an idea of other people's predictions for this year's questions.

My predictions ( going off sample papers and 2017/2018 questions )

-Lord of the Flies - Roger (significance, savagery, violence )
- Jack ( significance, comparison vs Ralph, savagery
- Friendship / end of innocence / power

Macbeth - Guilt ( I think very likely as it hasn't come up yet in 3 sample papers and last 2 years questions despite being one of the main themes)
- Macbeth's instability
- Role of violence in Macbeth
- Fate vs Free Will

Frankenstein - Ambition ( Victor as an ambitious man )
- Prejudice
- Guilt ( Victor as a guilty man )

Love and relationships poetry
- Neutral Tones ( breakdown of a relationship )
- Farmer's Bride ( Unhealthy relationships )
- Nature ( Love's philosophy, Letters from Yorkshire )

I think for Lord of the Flies it could be Jack and it may ask about how Jack could present the dark side of human nature

Yes My friends and I think Gerald
For Pride and Prejudice my teacher thinks it will likely be on marriage or social class as they’re two big themes which haven’t yet come up (she doesn’t think)

Awwww wat was it about
Love and Relationships I think will definitely focus on toxic relationships, so Porphyria's Lover or The Farmer's Bride. Also maybe Neutral Tones or When We Two Parted. This is because they've already covered loving relationships (Sonnet 29 specimen and Singh Song! last year) and parent-child relationships (Before You Were Mine and Follower specimen, Mother, Any Distance 2017). I think the most unlikely to come up is Love's Philosophy as that would naturally be compared with Sonnet 29. Also Walking Away, since it can be compared with the aforementioned parent-child poems.
It shouldn't change the fact that you need to learn them all, but hopefully this helps or is at least reassuring!
I've written it again word-for-word asgskgfwsfg hopefully people read it

Thank youuuuuu do you have any predictions for Macbeth or Jane eyre or dna
I only do Macbeth and I would say I agree with the original post, Guilt is definitely a theme you should look at. I never even considered it myself because I assumed it would have come up, so the fact that it hasn't is very telling. And you're welcome
