My daughter had almost dismissed RVC due to the high cost of living in London. We are a family where we earn too much to get the full maintenance loan but not really enough to be able to support her for 3 years in London as the loan we would get wouldn't even cover the rent never mind anything else.
When we went to the Bristol University open day on Saturday, the students there we spoke to were surprised that we weren't looking round RVC so I did a little bit more investigating and it seems that from the 3rd year you move out to Hawkshead and you can choose to live in uni accommodation there from year 2 which makes a big difference to the cost, even factoring in the train to Camden.
I can't seem to find as much information on the RVC website as the other unis as the main Open Day was in May but we are booked for an Open House tour in August. Has anyone got any tips of what to make sure we see whilst we are there and also any other advice to give re the logistics of living in halls in London.
