Wow, why do you need to have such comments. Just because I support the Labour Party and Jeremy Corbyn does not mean that you should go on a full attack.

Yes, there are some Jewish people upset about the Labour Party and I agree with that. I just don't agree that all Jews share the same opinion or that anti-semitism by some Labour supporters started during Corbyn’s leadership. The OP’s article even confirmed that there was anti-semitism in parts of the Party during Miliband’s time and he, too, is Jewish.

You can attack me for being socialist but please focus on me and my politics.

Thats all I said though but you've completely attacked me and said I am speaking nonsense when I merely tried to point out due to recent events especially a lot of Jews aren't fond of the Labour party. There are jews who support the labour party and some who don't. I think Alan sugar recently said he would vote for boris over corbyn if he could despite the fact that hes mainly only really voted for the labour party in the past.

They didn't like miliband because what a lot of Jewish MP/ministers do is they don't like to speak decently about israel without making it so political and they don't really dismiss the actions of the BDS sincerely. It is upsetting since Israel is incredibly important to us and the holy land has always been a centre for us jews.

P.s A lot of Jews are antisemitic.

a lot of Jews are antisemitic? What??

Where did I attack you? You attacked me, my family and girlfriend, then claimed that i was the one attacking you? Wow! Ok. I guess I wont respond to you again.

I apologise, if you think that anything I previously wrote was an attack to you.

Yes they are and you should look this up but its specifically American Jews and very secular jews.

You did attack me. You said I spoke nonsense when I was merely explaining there is also a difference of opinion - some do support labour and some now don't due to recent events. You also accused me of attacking you for thinking differently which again is untrue - you're free to think as you wish.

I didn't attack your family. The only thing I said was you're only jewish if your mother is jewish. why is this an attack? You should know this already.

And no I am glad your girlfriend (i hope you're intending to marry) is jewish - your children will therefore be jewish.

Great picture: non-Jewish Britons are teaching the British Jews how they should understand antisemitism.
Good luck.

Sorry for saying that what you wrote was nonsense. I apologise. I did not appreciate that your use of the “shikse” term.

I don't know if I will marry my girlfriend. She is a great person with excellent qualities but I am not with her because she is Jewish. I just happened to meet her and liked her then found out later on that she is Jewish.

I think we should stop alienating ourselves from the Labour Party. I completely accept there are some bad apples but the assumption or claim that the whole Party is rotten is OTT.

Finally, I don't know any American or secular Jew who is anti-semitic. Are you orthodox, you seem to have a very traditionalist view.

I'm sorry if it offended you.
Ah I see. I would only be with somebody who is Jewish. I am glad nonetheless that she is a Jew and I wish you both a righteous relationship.
There is no issue if a jew or anybody for that matter is fond of labour party principles but I think some jews are fed up of the recent news of labour MPs treating the labour party as a safe haven for antisemitism remarks.

Yes I am orthodox but my views slightly differ from my parents in certain issues but I am still very traditional and you?
My political beliefs would probably lean towards the conservatives but I'm not fond of British politics. I normally tune into israeli politics and enjoy seeing the collaboration with orthodox parties and likud!

Yes, i agree. Those people should be rooted out.

I am liberal and progressive but also have some socially conservative views. Obviously, I support the Labour Party.

I don't follow Israeli politics as closely as I do the UK one.

I went to a reform shul (i think you call it temple? ) once just to better my understanding of what reform jews follow and it was rather interesting. My mum later did tell me off though because its not considered ideal for an orthodox girl to be wandering in a liberal temple - my father laughed though!

I am interested to learn about your socially conservative views.

Do you have friends that are non-orthodox? Of course your ma would tell you off because she probably wants to main the values that have been passed down.

My views lie in some aspects of traditional values. For example, I am against abortion because of value of life and impact to mother & child. I also believe in personal responsibility and accountability.

Not really but over the years I took part in debate club in my local town and there were a few liberal jews who I got along with but I don't really have many non orthodox friends. My university has a good J-soc though. I don't really tend to mingle with gentiles or anybody for that matter since naturally i'm pretty reserved and shy. I was actually quite open in the past but people ask really silly and upsetting questions.

Yes and they will. My views differ ever so slightly but I am very passionate and I agree with most things even though I'm incredibly critical of everything in front of me!

I am very glad of this. I am against abortion also (obviously) unless it physically mentally risks the mother. This might be a bit too much information but the reasons for niddah (abstaining from period sex) is because of the loss of potential life. I actually found this really upsetting as a little girl when I learnt this but I am very thankful of these mitzvot because they really do emphasise my values ~ the value and importance of life but also family.

This is from the Spectator, I’d take it with a pinch of salt.

To a point, i do like to balance my reading of them out with the NS though

Non Jews telling Jews what antisemitism is. The irony.

You do realise you dont have a monopoly on what can be called antisemitic right?
Equally, in what world is that irony?
Original post by ems9999
You dont speak for the jewish people nor are you a religious jew.

So?
It is a well known fact the labour party is incredibly antisemitic

What a load of rubbish
and its absurd to say he himself isnt antisemitic when hes retweeted numerous antisemitic images and refered to hamas as friends. [/quote
1) What 'antisemitic' images?
2) So? That might be questionable but it isnt antisemitic dear. Fun question do you know who helped found Hamas?

The labour party is a safe haven for antisemitism and when ever a labour MP has made antisemitic remarks your trashy commie leader has done absolutely nothing to condemn them.

I take it you're a tory?

I know people who are non-religious who have the similar views on abortion and for moral reasons/values against sex before marriage. Don't think because you follow a religion that are more moral than non-religious people because you are not.
I live in an area where 1 in 7 people said they were Jewish in the census. I am not Jewish myself though have ancestors who were, and over the weekend went to the memorial in Paris that remembers the three who died in Auschwitz, one in Sobibor, and another most likely on a forced march from Buchenwald. The youngest is remembered on the 'Mur des Enfants' where 4,700 photos of children who were deported from France are shown. Someone who was 15 and deported on a train with her mother.

I think that for Jewish people that the lack of action by the Jeremy Corbyn Labour party against members who have made anti-semitic comments is something that means that if the 7% figure in the article is correct, it is no surprise.

What would your ma do if you brought home a liberal jew? If you don't speak to other Jewish groups you may never have a balanced view.

I think you should remain open and engage with people and have a broad range of friends. What questions did people ask you?

My Ma used to want me to have Jewish gf and told me that she was praying for me. I found it a bit weird that she was focused on the girl being nice & Jewish rather than whether I liked her or her other qualities. My Pa does not seem to care.

One of my friends is close to a non-Jew and he said his mother has complaining and asking her to convert, which was OTT. Would you marry a non-Jew?

Ive had loads of interaction with liberal jews in debate club and theres some at my university to its nice to hear about different views. I agree with them on some issues and disagree on others.

Religious jew or not we tend to have good values so this is a good thing however some jews are too secular and wouldnt care about anything so it would be a clash of day to day values. I think my mother will be upset but I tend to surprise my parents and I will always do what makes me happy.

Your mother wants you to have a jewish girlfriend because when you have children they will be jewish. If you marry a gentile then your kids wont be jewish and that is quite a big thing so you have to understand your mothers worries! Its different for sons because if you were a girl she would know the kids will be jewish.

Your girlfriend is jewish and you didnt know this before so do you not believe it was haShems way of guiding you to what is righteous?

I disagree with conversion for marriage well its not ideal anyway in todays world. There are a few souls who convert in the most righteous way but thats because they felt jewish their entire lives not just to marry their partner. Its a tiny minority and besides we dont seek converts.

I would absolutely never marry a non jew, Mr Wired!

I don't know if I was led to my gf, so I wont comment further but I am grateful for meeting her as she is a great person.

Why would you absolutely never marry a non Jew? Even for love? As a woman, your children’s identity is confirmed, so you don't have to worry whether they will be non-Jews? I am surprised at your zero tolerance view, ad you seem to be young. You should be free and progressive and embrace an evolving world.

If you met a guy that you liked and found out he was Muslim or Christian, will you dump him?

As an orthodox girl im not actually allowed to be explicit but I've met a wonderful Jewish guy and we will soon marry once I finish my last year of study and internship so that explains why i am being rather coy regarding marriage! He is older than me and is the man I am utterly in love with.

Why would I as an orthodox girl be speaking to a muslim or christian man in a very friendly way anyway? Its a bit absurd because you cant expect me to go out and hunt for them and i wouldnt really want to.

You're encouraging intermarriages for the sole purpose of what exactly? Its not something religious jews do and even secular parents prefer their kids to marry jews. There wont be any jews left.
