Results day is looming and TSR tradition means we have to have a countdown thread for everyone to get to know each other, talk about their hopes/fears and generally relax (as well as sharing advice and information before the big day)! Introduce yourself; feel free to post the subjects you have done, the grades you would like, and any results day plans for the 20th
Vote in the poll above how you are feeling about the day! Goodluck everyone
Yay, I can't wait for all my grades to be slashed because my poorly funded school underperforms yearly and lies in one of the worst deprivation index areas in England! See you in August when I have to re-learn 2 years worth of content in one month to sit exams without any support while juggling sixth form and probably a second wave pandemic!

aww, that's rough, hopefully you somehow get the grades you deserve otherwise good luck. if you don't mind me asking, what grades were you expecting.

If I sat the exams I would've gotten all 9s and 8s. Definitely a 9 in Maths and English. Now I'm not so hopeful. The school usually only gets a handful of 9s every year. There is always 1-2 students who get a clean record of 8s and 9s but I highly doubt Ofqual is going to do such thorough analysis of data to accommodate for outliers. All they need to do is please the tory factory schools.

exactly! I was aiming for a full string of 8s an 9s however I don't think it's possible any more due to these ridiculous predicted grades
Thank God! Didn't know they existed until a few months ago since they are custom to ignore the watch part of watchdog under these wonderful governments we've had these past decades but eh, guess they can control my future prospects in life, no issues with me!

literally in the exact same situation as you!! was aiming for all 9s but my skl is the worst in the city so.....
Tbh, I'm the first one so far to put excited (am I weird lol) but I am in the very fortunate position that my school is quite highly performing (no it's not private or a grammar or anything) so I'm pretty sure my grades will be okay! I'm hoping anyway lol, knowing my luck I've just jinxed it.
I'm hoping for five 9s, one 8, one 7, one 6 and a Distinction (hopefully distinction star but if they just use my exam grade it will be the former as it was the most you could get :/). These would've been at the very very top of what I think I could've achieved so if I don't get exactly this I won't mind.
I will hopefully remember to update this on results day with what I actually got!
PS. Can't believe it's only 43 days away!?!?!!? To say I've been doing nothing it's gone very quickly...
UPDATE: I am not feeling excited anymore after hearing about A levels
No matter the outcome, know that we can’t do anything to change it. This year’s results are going to be unfair and extremely inaccurate, so in that knowledge don’t stress and note that they will definitely not impact your future; unis aren’t stupid. Just relax, be grateful and wait till A levels come up.
I’m so upset; our teachers said we’re getting results by email. I won’t have my friends s there or anything to open our results together or my teachers so I can’t be angry at them for bad grades
