Chemistry mechanism qu

Can someone pls help me with these two questions

1) Outline the mechanism for the reaction of compound c with chlorine

Show the role of the hydrogen carrier

2) Compound c can be prepared by ‘trimerisation’ of propanone using concentrated sulfuric acid as a catalyst
Suggest an equation for this reaction, using molecular formula

Halogen carrier = AlCl3, used in Friedel Crafts synthesis ...

What does "trimer" mean? What is a "monomer"? What is a "polymer"?

What is a mermaid?

The equation should not include the sulfuric acid as it's a catalyst.

So just 3c3h6o -> c9h12 + 3h2o?

It would be incorrect to use lower case letters to represent element symbols, but yes.

Sulfuric acid is a good dehydrating agent and so helps to pull the equilibrium to the right hand side by absorbing the water.
Hi do you know where the mark scheme for this is?
