We'll have to see, I plan on making the most of freshers' week that's for sure!

Good lord, you've basically described the guys in my Computing class, I sometimes wonder if they want to fit the stereotypes.

Yeah, that's true. Hopefully going to join some societies. You thought of what societies you'd like to join yet?
 do they talk in your computing class? And are they like really weird?

Hmm... Not really. Maybe expeditions and language ones. Want a sport too though tbh, but haven't played one in so long it'll j be for the lolz, nothing serious

    Hbu?

No, I sit at the very back with 2 out of 4 of the only girls and another guy who's actually normal. Literally, they speak about their "hentai" fetishes between themselves and never raise their hands to answer questions.

Worst of all, this guy like dropped a note on a girl's desk saying: "heyyy, you're looking fine, want to dine with me, in my man crib?'.

I'm defo going anime soc, finance soc, band soc and a new sport of some kind - probs Japanese/language soc as well.

I'll probably try everything then tone it done.

Accommodation is stressing me out right now: en-suite or not?!?

Hentai... Is that the ermmm.... Unusual, well porn?

Jesus Christ. Well at least he has some confidence lmao

Oh finance. I started playing demo stocks on Monday. But only problem is you start with 20k so it isn't realistic... But now I'm doing it as if I'm only starting with sub 100 pounds and building up

Sweet. Japanese sounds like a plan

Ensuite, it has to be done.

    J playing

What kind of strategy are you thinking?

Rn I've shorted oil, letting it slump, and then buying a **** ton of it.

It's j annoying playing with little money when you see the exact same investment at a bigger scale make so much more

I haven't done anything in a while. So much politics and stuff in oil that I can't tell which way the price will move at all  Short term I guess playing the commodities will still be the most profitable option. Forex could be interesting as well.

Does your demo allow you to leverage? It's a fairly cheap (if risky) way of amplifying your returns.

Yeah, I'm j short term doing ****. Like most don't last the day

Urmmm... Leverage is mentioned. But I don't actually know how to do it on this thing... But the magnifying thing is a no go for me.

Especially because you need a Base amount available, if it drops below a certain amount it'll liquefy, and with mine it drops a bit, and then goes up eventually quite a bit so it wouldn't work out for me

That's the problem with trading, you have to actually have a lot of money to make loads. Its also gonna be hard as an 18 year old to persuade loads of people to give you money so you can trade ahah

I can get 5k to start off with, but I don't wanna be doing that

But yeah, I feel it takes time to build it up from nothing, but it would be worth

Sense of achievement going from 20 quid to a few k

As opposed to starting with 5k and ending up with 20k if you get me

Yes, the unusual porn.. I can't even.. Why do people discuss that in public?!?

Pfft, he is fearless or should I say the ladies fear him?

Decent, I haven't been investing actively anymore, I just plop my money into funds now - that way I can focus on other things.

I started with about £1k (real) and built up to >£20k in a couple years - so that's a good idea.

Most definitely, I'll try to schmooze my way in with the girls (jokes)

Meh, it's like £1k more expensive - don't know whether it's worth it.

But the convenience... When I was on the residential at Warwick last year we had non-ensuite rooms so you had to time your wakeup time so that no one clashes. £1k is nothing in the long run anyway.

It is only first year I guess, so it shouldn't be too bad spending the extra. All the halls on the Notts main campus are catered which I don't mind - just means my budget for other stuff will be tight as ****.

Have you done a budget yet? How expensive is the cost of living at Notts?

I woke up at 5am for my Cambridge interview because I didn't want to use the shower after someone else:lol:. I definitely want an en suite.

With the teacher there as well...?

Sounds like both to me lmao

What kind of funds do you invest in?

Fp, idk I've always been weary of stocks, so not sure if it's worth the risk

1k per year for a toilet and shower... Hmmm. That does sound a bit unnecessary
