Maths at intermediate 2?

I plan to join the merchant navy and I require a pass in maths at Grade 2 in Standard Grade Maths (2 means a B in Scotland and a Standard grade is equivalent to a GCSE). Unfortunately my maths teacher would not allow my to prove myself at maths and had me do the general exam and I got 95%, but sadly it could not go higher than a 3/C. I am now sitting intermediate 2 maths.

What grade do I need in intermediate 2 maths in order to get an equivalent grade of a 2 in standard grade maths?

thanks in advance.

A pass at Intermediate 2 ie. C or greater is the equivalent to a Standard Grade. So you would only need to get a C in maths to qualify.

so a C in int2 is equal to a 2 in standard grade?

Yes, well equivalent. For example, you can have a look at what Edinburgh Uni have to say about it here.

If you got 95% in General Maths, there's no reason not to aim for an A in Intermediate 2.

You should check out How To Pass Int 2 Maths, almost everyone in my school swore by that book
