I've been practising my trignometry , but for this simple question, the answer is 5.9, but I get 10.9 :confused:

Finding X:

What i've been doing is , cos43 x (divided sign) 8 .

x= 8/cos43

You need to rearrange the equation (which you've stated above - without the "equals" sign :tong:

) cos(43) = x/8 correctly.

How do you get this equation with x as the subject?

\cos \theta = \frac{adjacent}{hypotenuse}

adjacent = hypotenuse * \cos \theta
