Higher English - Sunset Song Notes?

I'm doing Higher English and we've been reading/studying the book Sunset Song.

We've been taking notes on the book in class, however, I'm not sure my notes are up to scratch (and yes, I have been taking them and not been slacking, don't worry)

So basically, I found notes on the internet on certain aspects being....
Chris Guthrie
Jean Guthrie
Ewan Tavendale
Chae Strachan
Will Guthrie
Long Rob
Prelude
The Book in general
Style and Structure

And they seem to be far more organised and easier for me to understand and learn from than the notes I took myself.

However, I didn't find any notes on the more important character of John Guthrie, as well as the setting.

So basically, I'm just wondering if anyone who has studied the book before has any notes they've already typed up which they could share? (I'm not asking you to go out of your way to find them and type them up). Therefore I would be able to combine them with my own notes as well as the ones I found on the internet so I will have a lot more to go on.

I basically want to be as well prepared as I can for writing an essay on it.

Thanks in advance.

The best notes are those that you make yourself. In response to a question, for example. This is ancient - but does carry a section on Guthrie.

The OU do the novel at postgrad(!) level and the section on their site is excellent if quite indepth.

John Guthrie is a man tormented by the battle between his strict presbyterian beliefs, his sexual urges, and the unrelenting hardships he encounters in farming the coarse land of Blawearie. Even Chris realises he is more to be pitied than condemned; not until he is safely out of the way though!
