times the whole thing by x+1 2x and 12

making it

X(2X)(12) - (X+1)(12) = 5(X+1)(2X)

24X^2 - 12X - 12 = 10X^2 + 10X

14X^2 - 22X - 12 = 0

7X^2 - 11X - 6 = 0

Factorise that or use quadratic formulae

BOOM.

PS: (7X + 3)(X - 2) = 0
X = -3/7
X = 2

use abcd=adbcbd\dfrac {a}{b} - \dfrac {c}{d} = \dfrac {ad - bc}{bd}
