zone to live in west london

Hi guys,I'll go to study a BA at University of West London(Brentford campus) next September.

I'm looking for some Brentford-surrounding zone to find where to look for a place to live, once I'll be in London.

The better zones that i've found so far are:

Borough of Hounslow:
-Chiswick
-Brentford
-Grove Park
-Gunnersbury
-Osterley
-Isleworth
-Lampton
-Spring Grove
-Woodlands

Borough of Ealing:
-South Acton
-West Acton
-Bedford Park
-Ealing
-South Ealing
-Northfields
-West Ealing
-Hanwell

So my question is:

Considering rent prices,quantities of bar/restaurants(in order to find a part-time job near my accomodation),transports and,why not,street security...

..How can I narrow down this list?
Which places do you strongly recommend/NOT recommend? Why?

Hey alevar, I'm also going to UWL next september (but still need to meet their conditions). I heard that Ealing is a nice place! My cousin lives there and everything is around (shops, bars, restaurants,...)
And if you want to share a house let me know via private message, I'm looking for people interested for that or maybe we could exchange informations about what we know!
