WJEC listening answers (higher)
Q1 about jobs:

I) E
ii) B
iii)G
iv)A
v)C
vi) F

Q2about spare time
should have ticked: he cycles a lot, goes skiing at Christmas, likes to wear nice clothes, works in restaurant

Q3 about holidays
Olivier wants to go to Wales
Laure's reaction is shocked/stunned
Olivier likes the beaches and the mountains
On holiday he would eat in local restaurants and visit castles

Q4 Advert about Autolib cars
Can hire car at train stations
2 advantages: no noise/no pollution/ also possibly the ability to charge in at various places (not sure if last one will get mark, but prob)
Takes 6 hours to charge
travels 250km when fully charged

Q5 about Pierre';s education
Pierre liked playing with his friends at school
He didn't like: reading and writing
He preferred maths because it's "useful in life"- utile dans la vie... bit of a strange one that IMO

When he was 12 he had to retake the year (redoubler= to retake) tough one that...
When he was 15 he decided to do an apprenticeship
On Saturdays he worked part time in a garage
People entering the world of work, according to him, need experience

Q6 final question about Marion Cotillard
a) when she was little she liked drawing on walls and eating with her hands
b) she didn't like the fact she couldn't do drama at school
c) she refused to advertise beauty products because: she is very interested in protecting the environment and is against animal testing
d) took her 7 years to become famous (this answer was in the man's question...tough)
e) she thinks her job is difficult/hard and success doesn't come quickly
f) She was called a national treasure by Di Caprio
g) she is so famous because she's been in many popular films like Taxi, La vie en rose, Batman
h) Apart from fame she is interested in "the small pleasures in life"

anyone think that 23-26 on the wjec listening paper would scrape a B. If i do get 28 UMS I would need 29 UMS on the reading and I thought the reading went much better

For the 1950's question I think for the 1st one I put discipline and single sex classes then for the second part class size and the school day. Anybody else put this?

Yes that's what I got! On the school day one, I heard "pendant" so I knew it was talking about a school day

I did the AQA French and I have to say it was bloody hard.

I didn't have a clue what the people were saying towards the end. I found the reading question easier towards the end however I completely guessed question 6. I didn't understand the text. I couldn't find the word expensive or cheap or delayed etc.

How did everyone else find it?

Does anyone have a mark scheme for either the AQA reading or listening?

I've only brought the higher paper home but ill do it tomorrow for you if you like! As for the other question about skiing, the box says 'he always goes skiing at Christmas' which is what the boy said in the audio- family wasn't mentioned, from what I recall!

I'd imagine 36 A* 33 should be an A, maybe 28 a B? 24 C?
C? I'm pure guessing though as it all depends on how everyone has done!

The AQA reading paper was really easy, I thought! I was only unsure on one or two of them so hopefully I did well!

THE LISTENING WAS SO HARD I WANTED TO CRY. I guessed half of it. Unless the grade boundaries are VERY low, I'm not getting my A/A* in French. :frown:

Yeah, I know! Did you find the reading really difficult too?

Well section 1+3 were easy, 2 was average, 5 was quite hard (some was ok) and 4 was impossible!- think I may have only got 1 or 2 out of 8 in that section.
