Think they'll be lower than that. I'd say about 59ish for an A.

I agree..at most 60 for an A I guess, especially if they keep it similar to May 2012 grade boundaries.. 55 for an A!
For the regression line, does anyone remember the values used to calculate a and b?

Mother of sweet lord that SXX and SYY question. I have no idea what I was doing there.... And they gave SYY at the top and I didn't realise!!!
Probability wasn't nice....

Anyone noticed that they're straying away from past papers? Like on core 2 they had some random questions and here something completely different!

Hope we all did well. I think the grade boundaries will be brought down because of that stupid questions.

Literally was going to give up on the Sxx and Syy question, put my head on the table and go to sleep but then I remembered the formula booklet... :P I came back to that second part of that question at the end and managed to figure it out, but I didn't get the bit where you had to calculate the least equation regression line. I subbed the values of xbar and ybar into a random formula I found but that's pretty much it :/

Yep. I missed the Syy too despite having used it earlier. READ THE QUESTION NOT JUST THE NUMBERS is what I'm shouting at myself.

I spoke about the fact that the product moment correlation coefficient showed a very strong positive correlation, that 'a' was close to zero and that 'b' was 1, which meant that for every 1 kg increase in the y weight, the x weight also increased by 1 kg.
Hence the estimated weight is likely to be accurate.

No, you weren't meant to do the (f-32) part, only the multiplication by 5/9 because linear scaling doesn't affect the s.d.
