AQA A2 HIS 3L Division to Reunification Germany

Can't find a thread anywhere, sorry if there is one.

How did you find it? So annoyed I didn't mention Nuremburg in the first question, fingers crossed my coursework will pull up my overall grade :frown:

It seems that not many people did 3L because I can't find any mention of it in any other threads!
I thought it went well on the whole - I did questions 1 and 2 what about you??
Reply 2
Did 1 and 3, found the third one easier as the other two were the only areas I hadn't fully revised with essay plans etc, just hope I get a B overall!

Is anyone doing this exam this year? Thinking Adenauer or East Germany (niche society) will come up as they haven't for a while, what do you think?
I am. I have Adenauer's foreign/domestic policies/Entire of East Germany and Reunification as my main areas of revision.

I bet the 5 chancellors will appear again though ><
I think it's two of the following 6. Adenauer. Content GDR. Division 45-49. Or reunification, fall of the wall , or fall of the sED.
Definitely not Nazi germany orwest Germany 70s 80s

The majority of people I have spoke to, and my teacher seem quite intent on Adenauer and the GDR's niche society. Which means after all this revision they won't come up ><

No I think one of them would pop up on the exam. More likely the GDR as west germany poped up last year

West Germany was the 60's and 70's economic and social aspects. Adenauer 1949-1963 Foreign/Domestic policy is still open

Yea but it's under the same section. I would revise for both.

Yeah, no point leaving anything to guess work. Back to the GDR for now, however.
I'm desperately hoping that niche society comes up!...I'm so nervous for this exam :frown:

I did question 1 and 2. Thought they went well, what was question 3 I didn't read it?

I done Question 1+2 as well.

Q3 was something along the lines 'How important was the Berlin wall in maintaining stability in the GDR in the years 1955-1989' Roughly..

i did 2 and 3.
really thought 2 went well but I was an idiot and wrote about the June riots in 1953, as technically they secured Ulbricht's leadership and helped make the GDR survive opposed to the Berlin Wall which is what the question asked. I mentioned all other factors im just kicking myself after writing so much about the riots and the years weren't included! what was so significant about 1955 though?

Hmm, not sure we learnt about the Warsaw Pact in class.
The factors I wrote were mainly for the Berlin Wall to survive, for example, the Berlin Wall restricted the mass exodus of people to the West, Ulbricht was able to decentralise his policies, the reliance of Ostpolitik loans, the collapse of the USSR, and then arguing against I said the June Riots (oops), Socialist Paradise, Niche Society, political stagnation.
Wonder how many marks I will get even though I wrote about the June Riots?

I didn't do section 3. But I think what you put is ok. You can never tell with an essay based exam. Just hope you get around 80 marks
