Not as despicable as some variants that actually put child pornography on your computer, then threaten to contact the police if you don't pay the ransom.

LOL! Never heard of those. Care to give names?

Lol at your sexual terms, Mod. I thought Mods were supossed to be puritanical.
Anyway, as along as she does not keep a local folder keeping things online should be fine, I think.

Me? Puritanical? HA!

I'm as pure and innocent as the driven coal.

Reveton is a classic example of this, though I'm not sure this variant actually does the downloading.

A 50kB .jpg might have seemed big back when we measured modem connection speeds in baud, but not these days. It only takes 1 indecent image for you to be convicted.

But I.T teams could easily know that it was a virus.

Macs are PC- for about a decade now they use Intel processors (with EFI instead of BIOS)

Quite.
And how are these viruses put on computers then? You've got to open something surely. So it's not really anything to worry about as long as you don't open files emailed to you who you've never heard of and will most likely be detected by your email client as spam/junk. It's pretty much a non-issue really, it's not as if I will get one without actually opening one.

I couldn't give a **** whether Macs are safer, they have a smaller market share. Therefore someone writing a virus is going hardly going to target a small group when Windows holds the most. Saying 'I use a Mac' is retarded because if we all used Macs then there'd be more viruses dedicated to them.

If peope are so stupid to click on an unknown email attachment then perhaps they deserve to be infected? Darwin's theory of evolution in action.
