Does anyone need help with a2 ocr G673 sociology revision?

If the question is to reproduce and transmit culture, what can I include in my essay? I just saw this question from the past paper and I feel like I don't really know how to answer it?

i agree with you, which theory do you think is likely to come up for differential educational achievement as it comes up every year.
I reckon inside vs outside factors would be in one of the options

I thought it was fine to be honest, didn't expect to see ethnicity was more hoping for class/interactionist views ahah.
Who theories did you include for the functionalist question apart from functionalist?

Same! Although I had done that exact question for home work and got 94% on it, I wrote like ten sides in the exam for that questions and still I could think of more to say. Hope I didn't over do it and it made sense. I included cultural and interactionist reasons and then at the end linked ethnicity to class and talk about material deprivation.

I thought the functionalist one was okay but I wrote a lot less for it! I also used Marxs ( Myth of meritocracy) and Bourdieu to evaluate role allocation by saying that its an middle class institution where cultural capital is rewards, not meritocratic but based on background. I also said that social democrats see school as a selecting mechanism that has equal opportunity. I didn't have enough time to word it very well though :')

My mind almost went blank for the functionalist one but then I thought of the basis and I just included the whole functionalist views, and marxists as the alternative view and I also included Neo Marx's views about Paul Willis's study.

I have written quite alot for ethnicity probably like 6 pages ahaha, I talked about the outisde factors: Tony sewell's study, Family life, and evaluated both and for inside factors: Wright, Mirza, Connolly and their evaluation views. In the end I included the evaluation points of interactionists (positives and negatives). I was tempted to do the social policy but didnt want to risk it due to how they asked the question!

You can you functionalism: Secondary socialisation into societies norms and values ( Durkhiems and Parsons)
But you can also uses Marxism : Transmitting capitalist values being an Ideological state apparatus ( Althusser)

Have a look at the mark scheme. They are useful!

Do you have any notes specifically on evaluating? I think my downfall is I don't evaluate throughout, but rather at the end.
Do you or anyone else know if this is a problem? Can I still obtain a A/B by evaluating all at the end rather than throughout a question?
