A-level Biology Study Group 2022-2023

Welcome to the A-level Biology Study Group! :woo:

This is where you can chat to others students taking your subject as you prepare for your A-level exams this summer.

What can I do in these groups?

Almost anything! If you need help with a certain topic, want to rant about something you are struggling with or just want to support other students who are trying to prepare, this is the place for you. We want these to be a useful place for everyone no matter what you're looking for!

What can't I do in these groups?

Asking or offering copyright papers is against our site rules, and so is taking conversation off-site to do these things. Any posts doing this will be removed. That's the only rule :naughty:

Ice Breaker questions if you want to use them!

> What exam board are you on? (Vote in the poll as well!)

> What bits of the course are you feeling confident with?

> What areas are you struggling with a little?

> Have you found any resources online that have helped you prepare?

Specifications:

Course: AQA - Biology 7402

Course: Edexcel - Biology A (Salters-Nuffield)

Course: Edexcel - Biology B

Course: OCR- Biology A H420

Course: OCR - Biology B H422

Course: WJEC - Biology

Good luck with the next few months. Remember, ask for help, support where you can and together we can do this!

The spaced repetition they have is really good for getting stuff in your brain, and the fact it's free and you can do image occlusion. Plus the many plugins.

I`m currently doing the same exam board as you, and I feel exactly the same way haha. I absolutely love module 5 so far, but I cannot stand module 3, especially transport in plants, it`s so boring, but it comes up in so many of our mock papers

Hi

Hey and welcome to the study group  How are you?
I’m gonna say this. A-Level Biology will end me - if anyone is doing well, tell me your secret.

i second this
i always make sure my notes are concise and include all the key points needed, sign up for seneca and do questions on your exam board, learn what you didn't get right, read a revision guide chapter, make mind maps and do practice paper questions - a tip I have is that always mark them straight away and add the mark scheme specific answer or keyword that you got wrong in a different colour to your mind map (so that your notes are now more summarised) and learn those on flashcards! I am predicted an A* btw for next year, hope this is helpful

All lot of them like im a very consistent E grade student
Ive been making my own resources so anyone want flashcards dm or something but this is kinda why im here as im tryna find AS questions by topic so i dont have to mess around searching through past papers
