URGENT QUESTION - Re-applying to UCL

Ok I got an offer from UCL for Linguistics, needed an ABB. Got a B for sociology and C for both politics & English lang and lit and had my offer rejected.

Now I'm planning to retake the two subjects I got a Cs in at another college but they require me to take another course. My question is, would taking a BTEC hinder me in any way? I already have a sociology A-level.

Can it also be completely unrelated to the degree course, and something fun and easy? I really could do without any additional kind of stress..
