applying for medicine through ucas

is it true that if you apply for 4 medicine courses through UCAS, then you can have a 5th back up option? does that require a seperate personal statement?
one more question....how do you find out college codes while filling in forms for BMAT?
Yes, you are only allowed to apply to up to 4 medicine courses and a back-up for the 5th choice. You do not need an extra PS for common back-up courses like biochemistry and biomedical science, but some admission tutors prefer it when you show a hint of interest in your PS, and some might ask you to send a seperate PS to them (by email).

If you are applying to oxbridge then you put in the code of the college you wish to apply to. The college code should be found on the university website, and when your teacher register the BMAT for you they should also be able to see the codes from a droplist. If you are applying to other BMAT unis just leave it blank.
