Uni applications with Applied/Use of Maths?

QMUL require AAB/ABB for their bsc astrophysics course but a B grade at GCSE Maths meant I had no option but to do Applied/Use of Maths at A-level. I understand this is not as good as Pure Maths but will this make my application weaker and is there anything I can do to rectify this? I am hoping to achieve A*A*A in my final exams, but will this matter with an inferior A-level?

For Maths definitely as Applied Mathematics is not the same as pure Maths and you can struggle a lot with the material. For Physics, I don't know but I am on Queen Mary and I am in Physics society hence regular contact with some students there. I can tell you just that probably none of them have Use of Maths. Why you can't email and ask them about this? Go there ( on physics QM site): http://ph.qmul.ac.uk/contact and email them the question. I can promise you that they will really helpful.
