Conditional offer requirements?

Today I got a conditional offer for llb law for Cali, however my condition is to send them a suitable reference from my last employer? Has anyone had this before? I don't understand it, why would they want a reference from a job no relevant at all to my degree? I'm going to phone the, in the morning but was just wondering if anyone else had this experience?

Hey I got a conditional offer asking for reference from last employer and it's totally unrelated to my course so wouldn't worry about it.

Do you mind me asking what grades you had in order to get the offer? Just curious as I'm weighing up my options. Thanks
