last years was SO hard

The listening about prison or whatever was so difficult and with the translations I always seem to write stuff down which is in the 'reject' section on mark schemes :s-smilie:
I did that paper for my mock. I thought the translations were good but it was a hard paper. Don't worry because if everyone finds it hard the grade boundaries will hopefully be lower this year.

I'm doing Normandy and WW2 for my cultural topics. I think I'm going to go with the war for the essay as there is more to write about!

I have been doing past papers but AQA barely have any on their website! I've also been practicing as many translations as possible. I never manage to get above 4/10 for french into English and vice versa!

Have you done the specimen paper??

I'm going to focus on translation and writing mainly for revision, and try to find some useful listening and reading exercises which is hard with the lack of past papers.

However I have found past papers (some with mark schemes, transcripts and sound files) from 2003, 06, 07, 08 and 10. They are a different specification and look a bit harder but the layout for translation is the same and the essay questions are similar.

I have put all files here and will update if I can find more papers:

https://www.mediafire.com/folder/ehhuo3nhcruwh/AQA_A2_FRENCH_PAST_PAPERS

Does anyone have 2009 or 2011 past papers? (and mark schemes/sound files if possible)

I did Un Sac de Billes as well but won't be looking at it again (boring!!) I will be doing Les 400 Coups/Francois Truffaut for the essay which is alright but you are so lucky you get to do a film which is actually good, I love Amelie!

Do you have the listening tracks to go with the papers?

I'm doing la haine and un sac de Billes. Pretty difficult to predict or discuss it with other students as I'm the only student doing A2 in my school, but I'm really hoping something on techniques used in la haine/motivations for the movie being made come up! I'm so bad at talking about the reactions the film provokes etc or why you'd recommend it :frown:

What about you?
