Israel denies supplying weapons to Fatah but weapons have been allowed to get into Gaza through Israel. Hamas are terrorists who do not recognise our country so why exactly should we care about helping their rivals? The point is, they've made an agreement now which means, hopefully, a stop to all weapon transfers on both sides. And that includes Hamas smuggling weapons from Egypt, right?

You should care because it is in the interest of all parties that Fatah and Hamas form a shared government! As a member nation of the UN you also cite international peace and harmony as the priority.

The whole point of the weapons transfer was to help and to strengthen Abbas.
Pakistan calls on Hamas and Fatah to end the differences between them and concentrate towards establishing peace with Israel.

Help and strengthen them to fight the legitimate government of the Palestinians you mean?
Hamas are now part of the legitimate government of the Palestinians - as of about two days ago.
Fingers crossed it sticks!

The ruling party is Hamas.
No, the ruling "party" - if such a term is appropriate - is a unity coalition.

Hamas won 74 seats Fatah won 45. Hamas wins.

That's not how proportional representation works or coalitions!

Won them when? In the original elections, or in some allocation process as part of the coalition talks? Link me.
Exactly. That was last year. The new coalition surely wipes that slate clean.
It does.
Well, then. No one party is ruling, so the "ruling party" is neither Hamas nor Fatah.
Yes, it's a coalition, like you say.
