When are the AS Level exams

Due to the changes im a bit confused. will there be exams at the end of year 12? Normally you take 4 subjects at AS and then drop 1 at the end of the year, but if the AS exams are at the end of year 13 then do you have to continue the subject you were going to drop into A2s?

I think this might vary school to school, but at my school they let the current year 11 pick four subjects even though they will most likely continue with three to A2. They'll do year 12 mocks around January time as normal and get grades for them, and then they will take end of year 12 mocks as well as sort of AS replacements and get grades for them to help decide which to drop for year 13.
