A levels

Guys i don't get it when we choose a level and we join year 12 we do as levels 1st right and after that the big exams which are the A levels.
Or is it just one set of final exams in year 13 before uni. plzz explain
Hi! It depends on what country your from and what exam body you study under. Wales (wjec) has AS levels which is where you do some exams in year 12 which count towards your grade (it tends to be about 40%). In England however, it is most likely that in year 12 you will do mocks and in year 13 all of the final exams that go towards your a level. You may do as exams but these won't count once you get your a level. I'm not sure about Scotland and northern Ireland but they will be similar to one of the two. I'd recommend asking your teachers to explain how it works in your school! I hope that helps
