Hi, I haven't heard anything yet either. My only choice was Belfast. I was on the waiting list to go to AC but unfortunately never got called up. Hopefully we find out soon either way!

Were you at interview in Belfast theduffman82???? What do you mean 'waiting list to go to AC'? Life is confused out of me over this whole carry-on!!!! :-(

I applied for the Graduate Programme and did well enough in the online exams, but not quite well enough to get onto the Assessment Centre stage, although I was on the reserve list for that. I was then contacted in May and asked if I would still be interested in an O role, and if I would be interested in an O role at one of four specific locations. Unfortunately none of the other locations suited me and I haven't heard anything else yet.

That's almost the same as me! Lol. After the online tests, I went for interview in Belfast in November and scored 5, 5, 5 in it. Was placed on reserve. Received email 12th May asking if I would still be interested in my first preference were it to become available. Also if I would be willing to take a post in Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds, or London. I said yes to everywhere except London. The email said information about further steps would be provided later in the month, but amazingly...it never arrived! I emailed at the beginning of June and they said they were unable to provide any updates and appreciated my patience. To be honest, it is wearing quite thin now! I'm nearly ready to call it a day! And some people seem to be receiving offers without having been to interview...the whole process seems to be organised chaos!!! :-(

I'm guessing your interview was for a separate role though? I think they run recruitment programmes completely independently (for some reason which is beyong me!) There were no interviews for the Graduate Scheme.

So those emails we received in May were based solely on the application for the Graduate Scheme. If we are offered an O role, it will be based on how we did in those tests and from what I can tell there won't be any interview. That's just my reading of it though so I may be wrong.

CSR/2066/15 - Tax Professional and Operational Delivery Higher Officer and Officer Caseworker.
That's what I applied for...according to the CS website! Lol. I'm just lost with it all....may just go and hit the wine! Lol. :-)

There's a different thread for that role that may be of more use to you

Has anyone else not heard back for Officer roles? My top three choices were Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds but not sure if my email got through to them as didn't receive any confirmation!

I'm waiting on Liverpool too; however in the email they were hinting at Liverpool being over subscribed. Good luck though; let me know if you hear anything!

I don't think so because everyone from the independent recruitment also got the email in May asking the two questions and given the four locations of Leeds, London, Bristol and Cardiff.

So I'm not sure how they'd work out merit order between a indepentant recruitment and the grad scheme. Interesting hahaha  **

I would drop them a email and asking how they are ranking the graduate scheme to the recruitment run independently and just say that a few have started getting offers but you're still on the reserve list and just ask how the merit is worked? At least the would clarify it

I've finally been offered an O grade role and just had a few questions about it that I was hoping someone here would be able to clear up.

First of all what are the actual tax professional exams that they expect you to pass? I could not find any specific information for the O grade role. Is it their own qualification? And if so wouldn't it be better to go for a role that offers a professional qualification. I currently have an option to go for a role which offers the ACA but I would much rather work in tax.

Secondly what are the promotion prospects like?

Thirdly will my current employer be contacted by them at all during the pre-employment checks? I don't feel my current employer would be happy with the fact that I am applying for another job therefore I would obviously not want them contacted. I don't think they will as they ask you not to hand in your notice till you receive a formal offer but just wanted to clarify that.

Thanks in advance for any help

Do you have any details yet on the role?

As a band O tax specialist you will probably be expected to take some self-study modules and assessments which will need to be completed within 1-2 years. As far as I know it's unlikely that you will sit any externally recognised qualifications.

In terms of promotion, there are opportunities out there but this does mean playing the competencies game.

I would say it depends on the other offer you are considering. But if you have the chance to take a structured course leading to a professional qualification, I would be inclined to take that. There is a huge difference between joining as a band O compared to as a TSP
Hi there, I am also on the reserve list, I emailed a couple of weeks ago and they said you should hear within a week, but still nothing. Does anyone else have a timeframe? I'm beginning to lose all hope!
Received an O level job offer! Does anyone know when we're expected to start? I'll need a while to find somewhere to live...

Anyone know the 033 number for OH Assist? Got a garbled message from them and can't hear the phone number properly. 😞

Hi everyone. Back to the graduate scheme information, on the Facebook page it says if you need a financial reference to use the messaging option on the CSJ portal. Does anyone know where this is? I can't find it at all. Thanks in advance.
