The simplest answer: A Computing degree at Imperial is "equivalent" to CompSci degrees in other universities.

Longer answer: Dept of Computing believes what they teach does not only cover Computer Science, commonly percieved as more theoretical, but also stresses the practical components - software engineering, industrial experience, hands-on approach. The degree comes with tons of projects/ practical courseworks and a 6-month industrial placement for MEng students. Hence the name.
