i got the following Venn diagram see attachment! how were we mean to know whether B and C were related i got well confused, if some one can possibly show me wot it was meant to loook like?

Yeah thats what I got.

i almost couldnt get the last question... u had to use P(a) x P(c) = P(AnC) and P(AUC) = P(a).... blabla
adk
OK I need to know this...

For the last question, did you get that A and B were mutually exclusive, and that B and C were independant?

i.e. Is this diagram wrong? If yes, what should it have been?

See Attachment.

A has to touch B if the independant
thats wot i did i fink

me too:biggrin:
A and B are m.e so they should touch
and A and C are independant so shouldn't?

Ok so say 64 is 80, then how much would 71 be?

And also: if 55 is 70, how much wold 53 be?

Cheers ( ! I REALLY NEED THAT )

Basically A and B DO NOT TOUCH, C Touches both A and C as P(B n C) is not 0, as this is not defined.

so there may be a (B n C) intersection or may not be, how do u know whether they touch or not then?

!!I HATE PROBABILITY!!

a AND b CAN'T TOUCH THEY ARE MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE

if they didnt touch they would b mutually exclusif so they would tell u that!

a and c together and b on itself

no way a can touch B. if they are mutually exclusive P(AnB)=0 so no middle bit

i mean from my picture coz i dont remember which letter it was
It was A and C that were independant right? and the independant ones don't overlap?
dammit
how many marks for the probability and normal distribution ques?

wouldn't that mean that c and b are also mutually exclusive? but they don't tell you that or am i jus seriously confused and should just leave it be!

independants overlap as Pa x Pc =Panc
what s.d did everyone get for normal distribution?
