my mum wants me to get a private tutor for science and maths but I don't want them because i work better on my own,but I do have a private tutor for English where i struggle. I am a solid B/A grade student across my subjects. Did anyone pass with flying colours without tutors?

It is possible. I would advise getting tutors in those that you REALLY struggle in. Revision books fill in the gaps well

I think a lot of people probably pass with flying colours without tutors But if you have the opportunity, perhaps you should take it whilst you can or maybe have a tutor to go over things finally closer to exams. I find that sometimes I myself with Maths find the textbooks insufficient for learning certain methods, and that it's good to hear it or go through it with someone.
