Which of the following would not cause a shift in the demand curve forapples?
A. A change in the income of consumers.
B. A change in the price of oranges
C. A change in sales tax on apple producers
D. An anticipated change in the price of apples.

They all seem to cause a shift in the demand curve, so I'm not sure which one it is..

It's not clear whether the question views apples as a substitute for oranges but based on the other options you can assume not

But wouldn't that be a change in the price of a substitute good, effecting the demand for apples?

Edit: Oh maybe we assume that oranges aren't a substitute good. Thanks!

Well in light of the other options, the question is probably assuming that oranges are not substitutes.

They all look right to me but if I had to choose one I would say B with the assumption that oranges aren't a substitute.
Answer is C because it is a tax on producers. Hence if producers must pay it, it will reduce their supply quantity at each price level - shifting the supply curve inward (left). Demand curve doesn't need to change at all.

I reckon c. A and D are obviously not it. B would cause people to change the amount they spend on oranges, leaving more/less to spend on apples. I reckon c. Idk though.
I think C
