OP I don't think you were in the wrong, but I don't think that establishing who's in the wrong is the key to solving the issue with your boyfriend. It sounds like he has some jealousy issues and you two could do with a chat about how you are both feeling and reassuring him that no matter what this friend says, you only have eyes for him. You sound a bit hurt that your boyfriend got annoyed with you about this, which is totally understandable. Still, relationships shouldn't be about who's right and who's wrong. It should be about respecting everyone's feelings, even if they seem strange to you, and communication. I hope you can sort this out.
