Contact your operator immediately.

And yes, you usually still have to continue paying your way through the contract even though you have no phone.

Like I said, contact your operator. As in, now.

The longer you wait, the more likely it is that someone somewhere is making a billion calls to China at your expense. They'll also probably explain what you'll have to pay for.

You should immediately contact your operator to avoid paying if someone else is using the phone.

As people have said, you are obliged under your contract to keep paying your line rental. You will not get a replacement phone if you're not insured. Your network will probably give you a replacement SIM card for free or a small fee, so you can continue to use your minutes on another phone, and will probably sell you another phone, but it will be expensive.

What were you expecting? You lost the phone, you weren't insured - it's your problem. That's why people get insurance.

Get hold of your operator. Now. Don't read the rest of the post till you have!

Now, they should have offered to send you a new SIM, get it in another phone, use as before. Et Viola. Youre getting what you paid for, bar the phone.

You're paying for your line rental, and you can still use your line. Your network will send you a replacement SIM which you can use in any phone (except phones which are locked to a different network).

Your network may or may not offer you a replacement handset, at full cost or discounted, based on a number of factors. However, if you renew your contract to get an upgrade (some networks let you renew early) you may mess up your chances of claiming the rest of your cashback.

You could always buy a cheap handset on eBay for the duration of your contract otherwise.
