ICT AS retake?

Hi

I got my AS results over the summer for all of my subjects but was very disappointed in myself in that I got a U in my ICT coursework (despite getting a B in the paper. As I achieved highly in the paper I got an overall grade of a D. I've talked to my ICT teacher and he thinks I shouldn't retake as he thinks if I get stuck none will be able to help me if I get stuck. My overall thinking is that I've learnt all the skills I just didn't work hard enough and messed about all year... So retaking shouldn't be difficult however he recommends I simply improve my grade through A2.My problem is I just can't see myself getting a high enough grade o drag it up to a B (what I would like) I know I'm capable of it I just messed around for too long.Getting a tutor is an option or I could also self-teach but I would like some more opinions
