Personal Statement - History

Hi,
So at the Durham Open Day I was advised to include the analysis of a historian's view point in my history personal statement. I'm currently reading a book but I'm struggling to find any arguments in this book or others to analyse - does anyone have any tips on where in a historian's book to find a good quote to look at (e.g the start of a chapter) or something that makes a good argument to analyse?
Thanks!
If you're wanting to talk about a book you need to make sure you read and understand it properly first so that you don't get caught out later. You generally need to show an interest in the subject, talk about your specific interests and what you did to develop them.
