Explain how each of the following helps a leaf to photosynthesise:

    a. A living leaf containing starch doesn't turn blue-black when you put iodine solution onto it.

    b. Chloroplasts have many membranes in them.

    b. Thylakoids (internal membranes) in chloroplasts increase surface area to maximise light energy absoption for photosynthesis

    idk about the first

    a) The starch stores are being used up during respiration, which provides ATP for further photosynthesis.
    b) The thylakoids and grana contain chlorophyll in a chloroplast and provide a large surface area for photosynthesis to occur.
