How would you compare My Last Duchess and Sonnet 18?

I'm not sure how to compare them. I'm aware that Shakespeare's purpose was to criticise typical conventions of love in sonnet 18 but what was Browning's purpose? I'm also not sure about messages for the two poems. I'm a bit lost really

I'm pretty certain that My Last Duchess and Sonnet 18 are from different clusters. I do My Last Duchess and it's on power and conflict, but I've never looked at Sonnet 18. You can't compare poems from different clusters.

Oh, that explains things then. You could compare the two different angles of love - My Last Duchess is a very possessive love.
