AAT Level 2 - Foundation Certificate

Hello,

I am just looking for some advice on which route to take really with beginning to get my AAT qualifications. I currently work in Accounts and am doing basic book keeping, using Sage on a daily basis, reconciling banks etc.
I don't really want to pay to use a training provider and pay for the level 2 foundation certificate as I have the basic experience and I'm aware that a level 2 is equivalent to GCSE's.. I am 27 and don't really want to start and pay out for a basic level.

My ideal plan would be to pay to sit the Level 2 exams without using a training provider, but I need some help on which books etc I can purchase to help me study with? My Employer offers a Level 3 through work which I can begin once I've done the level 2.

Is it easy to book exams, would I do this through AAT directly?

Thanks
Charlotte
