What happens if I get an A in paper 1 but an A* in paper 2?

In the chemistry paper 1 aqa igcse exam today I think I got an A but I was aiming for an A*. Do you think I can get an A* overall if I do good in paper 2? Does anyone know how they determine an overall grade because if you search for grade boundaries they are always for individual papers? Thanks

You can find the spec there which shows you the weighting between units.

I think each component is worth 25% so you can't just look at paper 1 and paper 2 but yes, if you got A*A*AA then you could get an A* depending on how it averages.
You could either get an A or A* so that's calm.

It really depends on the exact marks. If you have a really high A and a high A* you'll likely get an A*, but if you're just scraping boundaries it'll likely average down.

Best of luck xxx
