private student accomodation

I live too close to Glasgow to be allowed into student accommodation for Glasgow uni which I understand but i'm really keen on moving out. I've been looking into tons of private student accommodation and feel like there's so many mixed reviews. I've heard a lot of private accommodation takes mostly foreign students which is fine but most british students say they find it difficult to socialise and the social experience isn't the same as halls. So I want to know if anyone in first year has moved to private accommodation and what it was like? Also what the best accommodation based on price/location etc is? x
Hi confusedddd!

Obviously we may be coming at this from a slightly biased perspective, being private student accommodation ourselves :colondollar:

We do have a lot of international students living here. However, we try to make sure that first years are in flats with other first years - we know that socialising is a really important part of your first year, and that you'll want to be sharing with people going through the same experiences as you are! We normally recommend our six-bedroom flats to first years (you all have your own bathroom but share a kitchen) as it maximizes your chances of making some friends.

It seems to have worked out this year - quite a few of our first years who moved in last September have booked with us again for next year as 2nd years, with the friends they made living here this year!

Price and location vary - we're around 5 minutes from the university. If you have any questions for us (such as about who your flatmates might be) please get in touch as there is some information we can give you!
