my teacher is very confident on her grade boundaries as she is head of maths and has been an examiner for 10 years
her predictions;
5=25
6=33/34
7=42

Has your teacher predicted the 8/9 boundaries as well?
I don't have much knowledge of the 5 boundary, but the 6/7 boundaries seem very sensible so I'd be interested to see what she predicted the higher gbs to be.

We are part of a group of schools and we used the average from all the mock results we had ours about 189 for a 9 because the average mark per paper was in the 40s so they couldn't raise it to a certain extent

Hi, does your teacher have grade boundary predictions for level 8/9. Thanks
My predictions:

90 - Grade 6
120 - Grade 7
150 - Grade 8
190 and above - Grade 9

That's what my school used for the Edexcel 9-1 Mocks in March.

my school thinks that 25 marks is a 5
and 30 marks is a 6

The 6 will be around 25 ish as that is where the grade 5 finishes.

25 for a level 6.... what a funny joke.

23 Level 4
33 Level 5
43 Level 6
54 Level 7
65 Level 8
75+ Level 9

is what my school used.

These predictions are low.

89 A*
Let me just say the OLD SPEC GCSE was much easier.

Grade 7 will be around 50% mark. So probably around 38 in each paper for a Grade 7 maybe 42 at tops.

It will definitely not be over 50 in each paper. 50% of content is Grade 7 and above so that wouldn't be fulfilling Ofqual's obligation that 'the same proportion of those who got A and above will get 7 and above'.

Overall prediction:

130 (tops) for a Grade 7.

155 for an 8? Lol at my school you needed 156 for a 7! My school does have exceedingly high grade boundaries though

yeah that's much more realistic than my school! Probably still slightly high even
Yeah by 10 marks.. But I'm hoping it's bloody 110 I need a 6 😂 But the highest a 6 could be is 120

In my school the grade boundaries are quite high:
33% - grade 4
44% - grade 5
55% - grade 6 (way too high)
66% - grade 7
77% - grade 8
88% - grade 9

Hopefully my school got it all wrong cause otherwise I will get a grade 5 and I am aiming for a grade 6-7

I'm reckoning more like 105 for a 6, but maybe that's unrealistic

Yeah me too! I reckon I got 10 marks more in paper 1 than paper 2, and I'm usually a lot better at calculator papers than non calculator
