Finance

Hi
If I have supported myself (moved away from my parents) for over a year by the time I apply for student finance do I still have to put my parents income?
Thank you

Are you estranged from them or over 25?

It'll go on their income then. It has to be 3 years prior to starting your course.
I'm pretty sure you have to be living independently for three years to be considered independent or over 25

I went to Northumbria open day recently and spoke to the nice finance information lady.

She said you have to have supported yourself independently for 3 years if you're under 25 e.g. Working for 3 years (even if not all in one consecutive period) for the finance to not go on their income.

They will then ask for relevant proof such as payslips/p60 etc
