Kings Offer! So happy!
Congrats to all KCL offer holders.
I am in year 11-really want to get into Kings-any tips on work experience, extra-cir activities, what they are really looking for?
When did you get the offer?
Are you a home student?

yup, home, I got it yesterday after 5pm:smile: I accidentally opened king's apply and it was there! before I even got an email update from king's apply or track
my interview was on 14th March so I didn't expect it to be so quick!
congratulations to everyone with a place!!
I have a q... Do u think I could be in with a real shot of getting a place at QMUL or Kings: (I'm in yr 12)
GCSEs : 9 A*, 2A
A level predicted: A*AA (chem, bio, maths)
EPQ: A* (how is dental phobia acquired and how can it's prevalence be reduced?)

Work ex:
2 weeks GDP,
1 week plastic surgery hospital dept,
1 week at Eastman dental hospital,
1 day orthodontics,
possibly 2 weeks in slum clinics in Delhi this summer,
weekly volunteering with young ppl with special communicative needs/ mental disability
Part time sales advisor at Clarks footwear

Extra:
1 week St George's medicine taster course,
'introduction to dentistry' MOOC by Sheffield Uni,
read 'the smile stealers' by Richard Barnett,
Netball first team
Hobby = mud runner, running the summer nuts challenge for cancer research this summer
First team school debating
MUN society deputy secretary general
Manual dexterity: plaster work/ sculpting- currently making a sculpture of lower jaw from latex and a wire brace to take to interview
Deputy head girl

UKCAT- haven't got my score, but I'm assuming I'll be ok at it, since I have 2 academic scholarships and the scholarship tests are similar to UKCAT.... mental maths and speed reading isn't really an issue.
Thanks so much for your help!! And well done again!

yes, its worth noting I have achieved grades and on gap
Wow these stats are amazing, of course you have a chance! But it all depends on the UKCAT... If you want a very sold chance of getting an interview you need a score of at least 700 in my opinion, or high 600s.

I think you defo have a chance, my GCSE's were lower than yours and I had less work experience than you but I got interviews and offers from both QMUL and Kings. As long as you get a decent UKCAT I'd say there is a high chance you'll atleast get an interview and then it will just depend on how well you perform at the interview
