A sensible move if it not just lip service. Loneliness for those who are widowed (usually older people) should be one area that is recognised and some action taken.

Certain duties, like appointing the Archbishop of Canterbury, are reserved to the Prime Minister.

The Minister for Sport is responsible for doping allegations, coaches fondling small boys, football hooliganism and stadium cost overruns. However, World Cups, Ashes triumphs and Olympic gold medals are peculiarly under the direct care of Prime Ministers.

I suspect footwear may be in the same category.

Minister for Vocal Matters. Britain's shameful treatment at the hands of the Eurovision cabal needs to be addressed without delay.
Now that we have thrown off the shackles of the faceless Brussels Bureaucracy it is time to show the world that we are still capable of putting together a toe-tapping vote winner. Never, never again shall our talented young songbirds be humiliated with the cry of Grande Bretagne Nil Points.
