Are 3 A-Levels enough?

Hi!

I am a Y11 who wants to study Maths, Further Maths and Computer Science at A level, is this enough? I know that the course is quite maths intensive so I would benefit from the double maths, but are 3 a levels enough? Or should I strive for 4? I feel like I couldn't get as many A/A*s doing 4 than I could doing 3.

Yes 3 A-levels are sufficient. Quality > quantity.

I presume you are applying for CompSci?

Most applicants will have 4 but each year a significant and increasing proportion have 3.

But note that some colleges prefer A-level Physics over Computer Science.

Yeah for comp sci.

I dont really like physics nearly as much as I like computer science, will I be negatively affected because of this? Surely it demonstrates interest, like I like computer science so why would I not do it for a level?

In that case stay with A-level CompSci  There's zero point picking a subject if you don't enjoy it.

DONT DO 4!!! I only do 3 and it’s tough, 4 I think would be way too much to stay sane. Universities only want 3 anyway
