In all seriousness, it depends which department. In the shops you have a general manager (of all the shops - I can't remember the name), then regional managers, area managers, shop managers, assistant/deputy managers, then volunteers.
In the actual research departments, no idea. Write to them and ask, maybe.
it can never be a flat structure as its a big company with more than two layers. So it is a tall structure.
its neither a tall or a flat structure. its a matrix structure. this is mainly the structure that most charities or non profitable businesses have. its not as much about someone leading someone else.in a matrix structure the business or charity has many objectives that they wish to meet, therefore they would make different groups, each to meet a specific objective. within each group there is different people from different functional areas that work together to meet the objective.
