Kremlin Propagandist caught sharing pro-Stalin memes

Sharing memes on Twitter is fun, but not all memes should be shared. And especially not ones that make light of totalitarian regimes and their violent methods.

Unfortunately, this is exactly what Russia Today reporter Sameera Khan did a few days ago when they shared a meme about Stalin and his gulags.

Not only is Russia Today a pro-Russian broadcaster, it seems, but evidently it is also full of those who would promote Stalinism as something worth chuckling about - not a great look. Especially when referencing his ruthless prison system.

The now-deleted tweets (Kahn has also gone as far to delete their entire account) listed the many 'perks' of spending a few weeks in a gulag while also including the line 'capitalists fooled you...'

Guardian journalist Fergus Ryan tweeted
You can't make this up. Just checked @SameeraKhan's timeline to see if the Russia Today Washington Corro was still denying the existence of re-education camps in Xinjiang. It appears she's deactivated her account after receiving blowback about posting ~pro-Stalin Gulag memes~!

These aren't memes. This journalist should not call these 'memes'. It stops being a meme when someone is offended. Then it becomes a nasty 'joke'.
