Do I get in touch before my mini-pupillage?

I'm meant to have a three-day mini-pupillage next week, and I'm a bit nervous about it as this will be my first one. The last correspondence I had with them was back in September, and I didn't get too many details about what I'd be doing - I'm wondering if I should send them an email again to remind them that I'm coming, instead of just showing up at 9am on the dot at their door on the day itself? Would it be too annoying to email them, perhaps under the guise of asking whether there is anything I should bring with me or prepare? I know from common sense that I should be bringing my laptop and a notebook, and show up dressed for court... sending them an email beforehand would just help with my nerves.

Do people with minis usually just show up to their assigned week months later, or do chambers usually get in touch beforehand as a subtle reminder?
