It is great to hear that you are interested in studying IR and Politics.

The two subjects are very similar and this is why the combination is fairly common. While the actual content of the course does change from university to university, in theory there is one big difference. IR looks at the nature of global relationships and diplomacy. The political science elements of the subject will thus reflect that. I.e looking into the strength of cultural diplomacy compared to hard diplomacy. For politics students looking to the nature of democracy and how difference systems work.
