How does the reserve list work, do we call the uni after we get the grades , or will they give us an offer on the results day? It's for my daughter.
Sorry it's all new so not aware of this process

Hi @Sansat,

I'm not 100% sure of the process myself (I'm an English PhD student so the medical courses aren't something I have personal experience with!) so I'll contact the admissions team to confirm and come back to you!

Hi @Sansat,

I've heard back from my colleagues and they've advised that, if a place becomes available, Keele would contact the student to advise and offer that place.

If you do need to contact us though, Keele's clearing team are available from 7.30am tomorrow morning (when the UCAS embargo lifts) and full contact details are at https://www.keele.ac.uk/clearing/?gclid=CjwKCAjwpMOIBhBAEiwAy5M6YIuFKU3yGEulTWT0T57x0M7wn7MBpnz34z6G0vYC-Jt_bxaXBS-97RoCl_EQAvD_BwE

Hi, I'm very interested in applying to Keele for 2022 entry, but I have a few questions... Here are my stats:
UCAT: 2800 (VR: 580, DM:640, QR:710; AR:870; SJT: Band 1)
A-Level Predicted: 3 A*s in Chem, Bio and Maths.
A* predicted in EPQ.
GCSEs: 5 9s (bio, chem, physics, maths and PE), 3 8s (Lang and Lit, Geography) and 7 in French and B in add maths

My first question is do I have the right stats to get an interview here?
And my second question is, what is the course like? Is it very hands-on or is it more traditional?

Hi @HK1308!

Great to hear you're interested in coming to Keele to study medicine in 2022!

You'll find all the details about the course requirements and the application process at https://www.keele.ac.uk/medicine/undergraduate/medicine-mbchb/howtoapply/#summary-of-2022-entry-criteria-a100.

Our medical courses are usually very popular and, as you'll see from the webpage, our admissions team do use documentation such as the Roles and Responsibilities form, Personal Statement, and Reference in addition to grades when shortlisting applicants for interview.

In terms of the course itself, you'd probably find it helpful to have a chat with some of our existing medical students who can give you their first hand experiences! We have Kaijanee (https://api.unibuddy.co/og/keele-university/buddies/students/5e7b808bca9fbd0730e0b8be?buddyPosition=share), Mustafa (https://api.unibuddy.co/og/keele-university/buddies/students/5e7b820fd296f905725e4ca3?buddyPosition=share) and Bassant (https://api.unibuddy.co/og/keele-university/buddies/students/5f16f7eb2fe2fc012d01a4cd?buddyPosition=share) who are all available to chat with on Unibuddy and would be happy to share their experiences of the course, and of life at Keele.

Hope that helps!

Hi, on the website I see It says that Keele does not use personal statements or references to rank applicants for interviews or offers. I'm a bit confused...

Hi @HK1308,

My apologies - it was my wording on the previous post that was confusing! Our team don't use personal statements/references to rank applicants for offers/interviews but, as it says on the website, these documents may be needed for informing our judgements during the application process.

So, for example, the personal statement is important in your application to Keele because one of the stations in the multiple mini-interview (MMI) will involve discussion of your relevant experiences whilst references indicate your strengths in keys areas and may elaborate on any exceptional circumstances or achievements that we may wish to take into account.

Hope that clarifies things
